I had jumped / had been jumping


 I had a terrible day yesterday.

First of all, I ———— (burn) my hand on the cooker. Someone ———— (forget) to switch it off the previous night, and it was very hot. I    ___________  (scream) and___________  (drop) the  glass of orange juice which I ———— (put) down near the cooker.

So I ————  (have to clean) everything up, and of course that ———— (make) me late. I quickly ————  (get dressed) and ————  (leave) the house. The moment I ————  (close) the door behind me, I realized I ____ (leave) the key inside. 

I ———  (run) to the bus stop, just as the bus ———— (leave). When the next bus finally ————  (come) , I __________ (wait) for twenty minutes.

I ————  (get) on the bus, and I ————  (find) out that I _____ (not take) any money with me, so I  ————  (have to borrow ) some from a lady sitting next to me. We started talking and I suddenly realized I __________ (miss) my stop. 

I was terribly late !!
