Mirtha's English Development Plan

Mirtha's English Development Plan

Primary Objectives

Let's work on:

• Speaking more fluently and confidently.
• Organising ideas clearly when speaking.
• Using grammar and vocabulary more automatically.
• Telling stories and describing experiences in a natural way.
• Using everyday expressions and conversation phrases.
• Improving listening through podcasts, videos, and real English.
• Thinking in English instead of translating.

Storytelling and Personal Situations

Speaking activities will focus on real experiences and personal stories.

Examples:

• A memorable trip
• An interesting conversation
• A funny mistake
• A difficult situation
• A favourite place
• A recent experience

The goal is to tell stories clearly and confidently.

Podcasts and Videos

We will listen to short podcasts, TED Talks, interviews, and videos.

Activities may include:

• Summarising the main ideas
• Discussing opinions
• Retelling what happened
• Learning useful expressions

Reading

We will read short stories, readers, articles, and other interesting texts.

Reading will help expand vocabulary, improve comprehension, and provide topics for discussion.

Conversation and Opinions

We will discuss everyday topics and current issues.

The focus will be on:

• Expressing opinions
• Giving reasons and examples
• Agreeing and disagreeing politely
• Keeping a conversation going

Language Review

Grammar and vocabulary will be reviewed when necessary, especially when they affect communication. The main focus, however, will be on using English naturally and effectively.

Expected Outcomes

By following this plan, Mirtha will become more confident when speaking English, communicate ideas more clearly, and feel more comfortable using English in real-life situations.

Guiding Principle

The objective is not simply to learn more English, but to use the English already acquired with greater ease, precision, and confidence.
